The brief
GOLFR is a digital golf ecosystem for resorts, private clubs and demanding players. It brings resort booking and hospitality together with on-course telemetry: RTK GPS, LiDAR green topography, swing sensors and live side bets (Nassau and Skins).
The challenge was the same across three very different screens: the phone, the watch and the golf cart tablet. Everything had to be readable in sunlight, with gloves on and in the middle of a swing.
Who it is for
-
01
The competitor
Wants distances to the yard, the plays-like value (wind, elevation, air density) and a read of the greens.
-
02
The social player
Wants automatic scoring, side bets and live results, without doing the maths in their head.
-
03
The resort guest
Books the stay, the round, dinner and a fitting in one place, with the best tee time.
-
04
The caddie and the pro shop
Send pin positions, pace-of-play alerts and course restrictions to the people on the course.
01 / 03
Mobile web: book and play
On the phone, guests choose a course, browse the guide to every hole, book a tee time with a cart or a caddie and close the stay. The course directory shows the live microclimate (temperature, wind and green speed), and the 18-hole guide brings yardages per tee and a hazard matrix.
Booking is a short flow: dates, a party of 1 to 4 players, add-ons and a 10-minute timer that holds the cart during checkout. Resort packages combine the round, a private villa and dinner.

02 / 03
Watch: only the essentials
On the wrist, the app shows the plays-like distance, the hole map with carries and hazards and the green read, and detects the swing impact with the accelerometer and gyroscope. The buttons are big enough for gloves, and the Digital Crown zooms the map.
The watch and the phone talk to each other: what is entered on one shows up on the other and on the cart HUD.

03 / 03
Cart HUD: the whole course
On the cart tablet and the clubhouse screens, the display is split in two: the live hole map on one side and the analysis on the other, with the adjusted plays-like distance, the smart caddie, dispersion ellipses and atmospheric telemetry.
It was calibrated to be read in sunlight and by spectators in the clubhouse, with scores and side bets updating in real time.

Two themes, one system
The tactical dark theme was made for the round: low light, the watch’s OLED and the cart. Coastal Luxury, the light one, was made for booking in daylight. Same components, different mood.

Behind the screen
What the product demands, and what we had to design around it.
-
RTK GPS
Coordinates synced with pins and hazards, accurate to tenths of a yard.
-
LiDAR green meshes
Pre-scanned elevations stored on a 0.1 m grid, for the contour lines and the fall line.
-
Real time
Scores and side bets over WebSockets, with minimal latency for multiplayer scoring.
-
Works offline
Hole maps, tee boxes and scorecards are cached, for the dead zones on links courses.
What we did
We designed and built the product end to end: the UX/UI and design system for both themes, the apps for the three formats (web and mobile software) and the real-time infrastructure behind them.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
-
A digital golf ecosystem for resorts and private clubs: booking and hospitality on the phone, and on-course telemetry on the watch and on the golf cart tablet.
-
Because each moment of the round calls for a different screen: the phone to book and plan, the watch for a quick read mid-swing and the cart tablet to see the whole course. The challenge was keeping the same language across all three.
-
Two, with the same components: the dark tactical one, made for the round (low light, the watch OLED and the cart), and Coastal Luxury, the light one, made for booking in daylight.

Yes. Tell us what you have in mind and we will tell you how we would approach it, from design to development. Write to us with the "Talk about a project like this" button, at the top and further down this page.

With a conversation to understand the goal, who will use the product and what already exists. That produces a clear scope, and we move forward in phases, with deliverables you can see and comment on along the way.
